Energimuseet Tesla Coil System Walkthrough and Demonstration with Finn Hammer

The largest Tesla coil show for public display in Denmark, is one of the major reveals on the re-opening of Energimuseet! After being closed to the public, for 1½ years, the museum reopened on April 12th 2025. The new dual Tesla coil system is built by Finn Hammer from  @hammertone2nd  , in collaboration with Kaizer Power Electronics on the documentation.

Tesla coil specifications

The dual Tesla coil system consists of two identical DRSSTC topology Tesla coils, one standing on the floor and one mounted in the ceiling. The customers Faraday cage is roughly 4×4 meters in ground plane and 6 meter tall.

  • Full-bridge Infineon FF800R12KE7HPSA1 IGBT bricks
  • MMC 0.33 uF, 15 in series CRE SMJ-PC 5uF/1500V GTO snubber capacitors
  • DC Bus capacitors Kemet ALS31C682NT450, 6800uF/450V
  • Secondary coil 1680 turns of 0.224 mm wire, space wound
  • Topload 600x175mm
