Nokia Siemens Flexi BTS base station teardown: Power amplifier (part 1 of 2)

Teardown of a Nokia Siemens Networks Flexi BTS base station. This have been in service as a 6 antenna GSM system for mobile telecommunications. Part 2 with circuit analysis of the Nokia Siemens BTS RF circuits can be found on this link.

This base station amplifier is capable of GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA and LTE at 2×40 Watt output power.

Here I am pointing at where a remote radio unit or base station amplifier is usually mounted. Technically seen this is a TMA (tower mounted amplifier)

  1. Nice youtube channel.
Can you sell me the 2 amplifier module from the last tear down of Nokia Siemens Flexi BTS base station. I think I can modify to use it in the 23 centimeters HAM band.

  2. Hi Stettinius Angeleanu

Only one of the modules survived being soldered out, the traces on the pcb was very brittle and lost contact to the fiber glass base. Use my contact form under “about” here on the site to contact me.

    Kind regards
    Mads
